Wisdom teeth are usually the last teeth to develop and are in the back of your mouth. The extraction of wisdom teeth is necessary when they are prevented from erupting. Depending on how, or if, they emerge, you may experience pain, gum disease, tooth crowding, or infections.

You should have your wisdom teeth extracted if:

  • Your teeth are crowded
  • One or more of your wisdom teeth is coming in at the wrong angle
  • You may be developing cavities or gum disease
  • Damage is being done to other teeth
  • You are experiencing pain
  • Your gums are inflamed and may be infected
